VSCO is a community-driven platform that equips photographers with the tools, community, and professional exposure they need to expand creatively and professionally.
Our goal is to help you make it, therefore content posted to your VSCO profile is public. Our approach to privacy and safety is specialized to the needs of our creators, and that includes giving creators control over their own content.
This article acts as a guide for how to manage and protect your content across your VSCO experience:
Studio
Studio
Your imported and edited media is stored in your VSCO Studio, which is separate from your VSCO Profile. All media located in your Studio is completely private unless you choose to publish it to VSCO. This applies to your Studio on mobile, on web, and the desktop app.
Profile Content
Profile Access Setting
We want to maintain the safety of our community and ensure work posted to VSCO is protected from misuse. Therefore, by default we require people who want full access to our community to have a VSCO account.
However, we understand that some creators may want to share their VSCO profiles more broadly with individuals that do not have VSCO accounts. For this reason, we enabled profile customizations for our members to control viewer access.
Please note, this feature is only available on iOS for Plus and Pro members. For directions, visit this article on the Profile Access Setting.
Blocking
You can block creators anywhere they could interact with you on VSCO, or by navigating to the creator’s profile.
A creator you block cannot follow you, message you, join a Space you’ve created, view content on your profile, or interact with your content anywhere on the platform. Past favorited images and republishes from the blocked creator will also be removed.
For complete details, refer to Blocking on VSCO.
Discussions
We designed Discussions in a way that gives Plus and Pro members full control over their interactions.
Creators can enable or disable Discussions on each post depending on their preference, and engage in ways that feel right for them. Creators can also delete or report inappropriate Discussions, or block creators engaging in such behavior.
To learn more, visit Staying Safe with Discussions.
Spaces
Public Spaces
VSCO Spaces are available to Plus and Pro members, and when public, can be viewed by any other creator on VSCO. Any creator can collaborate with you in the Space if you accept their request to join it.
Space owners can moderate who can contribute to their Space and remove content they don’t want shared, while contributors and viewers have the ability to report anything they come across that may violate our Community Guidelines.
Private Spaces
VSCO Spaces can be set to be private, invite only groups.
Private Spaces are not searchable on VSCO and can only be accessed via the shared link. While we don’t currently offer private profiles, private Spaces are a great way to collect your content in a private place.
Just like in public Spaces, Private Space owners can moderate who can contribute to their Space and remove content they don’t want shared, while contributors and viewers have the ability to report anything they come across that may violate our Community Guidelines.
To find out more, see Staying Safe with VSCO Spaces.
Client Spaces
Client Spaces are available to our Pro members as a way to share their work directly to clients in a safe and efficient way.
All Client Spaces have a unique link only viewable by those it is shared with and are not searchable on VSCO. Client Space owners can also set a password for added security.
Clients are not required to have a VSCO account to be able to view Client Spaces, however they must have an account to leave comments.
Discover more by visiting VSCO Client Spaces.
VSCO Hub
Available for Work
For Pro Members, marking that you’re available to “Professional Work” on your profile will surface your content to the vetted brands and businesses on VSCO Hub for opportunities to be hired.
If you change your mind and don’t want to be discoverable on Hub, simply un-tag your availability for “Professional Work” on your profile. You have the option to opt back in at any time.
