What are we doing?
Starting July 1st, 2020, we will be ending updates & Support of the Made for Samsung (MFS) VSCO App.
Starting April 27, 2021, VSCO Memberships will no longer auto-renew or be available for purchase in the Samsung Galaxy Store. Your existing VSCO Membership purchased in the Galaxy Store will continue to work until the expiration of the subscription.
Can I transfer my existing MFS Galaxy Store VSCO Membership to Google Play?
Unfortunately, because these are two different app stores, subscriptions cannot be transferred. We recommend to continue using your MFS Galaxy Store VSCO Membership until it expires and then purchase a new VSCO Membership in Google Play.
Will my Made for Samsung VSCO App be Deleted?
You will not lose your Made for Samsung VSCO app on your device. However, you will not be able to update your app as no new updates will be getting released for the Made for Samsung app after June 30th, 2020.
Can I use a Samsung VSCO App that hasn’t been updated?
You can still use your Made for Samsung VSCO App even after we stop updates as long as you do not delete it off of your device.
As there will be no more updates for the Made for Samsung VSCO App, we recommend that you download the VSCO Android App from the Google Play Store so you can have the most up to date version of the app.
The VSCO Android App is identical to the Made for Samsung VSCO App with the exception being that you will not have the Made for Samsung VSCO filters
What if I want to get an updated version of the App?
You can download the VSCO App from the Google Play store to continue using updated versions of the app
Can I have both the Made for Samsung VSCO App and the VSCO Android App from the Google Play Store on my device?
Yes, you can keep both versions of the App on your device.
Can I use my VSCO Membership on the Made for Samsung app after updates have stopped?
Your Samsung Galaxy Store VSCO Membership will work on the Google Play App. All you’ll need to do is login to the VSCO Account with your Membership on your Google Play app using the correct credentials for the Account on which you have your VSCO Membership.
Your Membership purchase is associated with your Samsung Galaxy Store ID.
You can continue on your Subscription purchased from the Samsung Galaxy store or you can turn off Auto-Renew and Purchase a Subscription from the Google Play store once your Current Subscription ends.
If your Samsung Galaxy Store Subscription Lapses or ends, you will need to resubscribe on the Google Play Store.
Will my Studio photos be deleted?
If you keep your Made for Samsung VSCO App on your device, your Studio photos will remain inside of the Studio on the Samsung Made for VSCO App. Deleting the app would delete your Studio photos unless you follow the instructions below to Export your Studio into your Device Gallery.
If you already had both the Made for Samsung VSCO App and the Google Play VSCO App, whichever photos you had in those Studios would remain.
If you are downloading the Google Play App for the first time, your Studio will appear blank. By following the steps below, you can move your VSCO Studio photos from your Samsung App to your Google Play App.
If you want to move all of your photos from your Made for Samsung App Studio to your Google Play App Studio, we’d recommend you export all photos in your Studio by tapping on Profile tab → Settings Icon → Preferences → Export All Images. Here’s instructions on how to do this below:
Open your new Google Play App and import all the photos that were exported from the Made for Samsung app into your Gallery. The images should appear at the top of the Gallery when importing. You can also select multiple photos at once to import.
Please note that your edit history (presets or toolkit items used on an image) will not transfer from the Made for Samsung app to the Google Play app. Any edited image that is exported from the Made for Samsung app, will have the edits permanently applied to the image when importing into the Google Play app. Example: If you applied contrast to an image in the Made for Samsung app, exported this and imported in the Google Play app, the contrast will appear on the image, however, you cannot change the existing contrast edit that was previously applied in the Made for Samsung app.
Can I transfer my recipes from the Made for Samsung VSCO App to the Google Play App?
Unfortunately any recipes you would have made will be deleted upon deletion of your Samsung app. You can continue to access these inside of your Made for Samsung VSCO app if you keep this on your device.
