Notes on the new member badge icon on profiles 

- Type and design are unattractive, obtuse, the icon obstructs profile photo

- In conversation with peers and younger users, it's not cool to pay for VSCO, why would I want to display this on my profile?

- Weird elitism "in group" vibe that is appropriate on other platforms (Are.na) but certainly not on VSCO

I was seriously considering cancelling my subscription to remove that badge. Unfortunately I imagine I'd have to wait for my membership to run out anyway...

    I am curious how this would affect your in-app experience if we made it optional for Members?

    Yes please! It’s unattractive for sure! I’m also considering removing my membership because of it.

    I did explain how this would affect my experience. I will elaborate though.

    Removing the badge reduces visual clutter– minimalism seems like both the design and community ethos behind this platform. Maybe that is changing...

    It's also unattractive as I mentioned.

    Vanity badges are a strange social metric to include in an app designed to eliminate these metrics (likes, followers, etc).

    Essentially anyone who is a "Member" or a "Pro" is signaling they can afford to pay a $20 (or now $60) annual fee to use additional filters? Feels misaligned with the mission and values of VSCO.

    PLEASE remove this feature! Would definitely let my membership run out in order to lose the badge

    please remove this feature, it’s been months and it should be an option to remove it or display only if we want it to.

    y’all really did an update and DID NOT gave us the option to remove the badge, I will not be renewing my membership

    Please remove this feature. It is so ugly and I will not be keeping my membership because of it. i do not like the look of it on my account and it is such an eye sore. there is no reason anyone needs to know if i am a VSCO member or not….

    There should be an option to hide this member icon because it bothers me a little. I don't want to stop being a member, but I don't like the icon below the picture. I don’t like this way of exposing that I pay for others to see.

    here over a year later and there’s still no option. it looks so bad and now i’m stuck with it for a month. will not be renewing.
