I REALLY hope this change is reversed. I agree, I use VSCO as a portfolio of sorts to showcase my work. I feel like as a photography platform, you should be able to view them without needing to sign up. I have a link on my LinkedIn/IG and I don't expect people to sign up to view my work, they will likely click away which will force me to find something different. I've actively used VSCO for years and love the platform, I hope this changes soon!

I’ve been a loyal vsco user for years, and I’m genuinely frustrated about this update. This was a way for me to share my vsco gallery as a portfolio in an accessible way - now I feel as though I’m less incentivized to use the platform as a social media platform.

I also noticed only 8 photos are shown at a time when it used to be 14 at a time. Now the option to limit the ability to see the entire gallery is a poor user experience - and against the values of the company.

I understand the incentive would be to increase app downloads / user accounts, but this will hurt vsco’s user retention. Many users love the option to share their web url via mobile web. I am now forced to look for alternative websites to share my gallery.

Please change this! I am so upset with the changes vsco has been making. First journals and now this. Why are you taking away the main reasons people use the app???

I really dislike this new feature. I prefer posting on this to Instagram and it doesn’t make sense for me to continue posting if none of my friends can see all my stuff…. To be honest, I probably will end up deleting my account and exporting everything to Pinterest or instagram or something.

is there any update on this feature request?

  • Ashley Tobert

THIS! I made two feedbacks about this concern. I also JUST put in a feature request about this. What is the point in putting the link in our socials if they put this as a new update? VSCO needs to revert this update ASAP. Social media is very pressurized. With VSCO, it's more chill and I feel no social media pressure when I want to post. I love to post my photos and showcase them to those who click my link. Now it makes it difficult for people to view my photos unless they download the app. Most people don't even own VSCO anymore because it is costly. VSCO used to have lots of free editing features. Lots of people are persuaded away due to the subscription and now this?! I may look for an alternative app or website to post my photos where people can view my stuff without obstacles. VSCO is going downhill. I may remove the app if this doesn't get fixed sadly.

I USE MY ACCOUNT FOR MY PUBLIC PORTFOLIO AND NOW I WILL BE FORCED TO STOP USING VSCO UNLESS THIS IS CHANGED SOON.

THIS IS SO OBVIOUSLY A CHANGE MADE TO TRY TO GET MORE ACCOUNTS CREATED AND YET I WILL PROBABLY BE DELETING MINE! THANKS!!!!

Worst decision ever.No one is satisfied with this new change. VSCO community doesn’t take seriously about this issue. This is too annoying :(

Lots of people are paid subscribers of this app and are using profile as a portfolio
    This feature needs rollback
In order to get more subscribers you will end up losing those you already have

Please change this update. Everyone is really upset with this new feature, because if we didn't want to show people or pictures then why would we put link in Instagram bio?

  • Stylianos Tsatsarounos

It’s been 25 days since the post and we don’t have any official comment and feedback from anyone.
Customer service seems not caring at all.
If this doesn’t change by the end of the month I will start to use another alternative app and not renew my VSCO account.
The feature that doesn’t exist anymore was one of my main prerequisites to pay for this app. Connect and share my VSCO account in bio has no use at all and I will not continue my subscription.
Maybe it’s just me maybe they will be more users that will do the same. Sometimes it’s good to hear the customers that put some effort and time to make your app better instead of just using another app without notice.

This feature was actually VSCO's unique selling point, that actually got me into VSCO at the first place. It is a pulling factor to get people to subscribe too. VSCO team should have realized this fact. Now VSCO have disabled this feature, means they're losing their uniqueness. Users and potential users will find a better alternative.

  • brookenconnolly

I will absolutely discontinuing my use/membership with VSCO if this continues. My favorite part of VSCO was including the link in my bios so showcase my favorite photos. This completely nullifies that. Hate this feature so much!

  • ryanmcginnzz

This is literally the only reason I got vsco - to post without notifying people and if they click my link they can see my photos. I see everyone’s been complaining for a while - I am going to delete my VSCO if it’s not fixed by April 1 2024 - I heard flickr is a good alternative and gives us the features we all want

  • linhntm1204

This new feature definitely defeats the whole point of vsco where people use to share the memories and pictures. If this is not fixed, many loyal users will delete their accounts. It is so disrespectful for a company to push their users like that.

  • marasedlins

Agreed. I just noticed this new limitation on how I can use VSCO and it is seriously annoying. :/

  • Stylianos Tsatsarounos

I have sent 2 weeks ago an email requesting an official answer.
    Nothing.
Not answering to the plethora of your customers complaints after so much time is irresponsible and unprofessional and shows that you have no respect for them and the money they pay for your app.
    This feature will not change.
I discontinue my subscription and I will sign up for Flickr as other users mentioned is a good alternative.

  • Em Somerville

Wow, yeah, this is wild! I had no idea this had been implemented until I tried to share my gallery with some colleagues. Agree this was what made VSCO great, and what made people join. The ability to show people your work and pique their interest in the platform was what made this worthwhile and invited new users.

  • Keith McArthur

Yeah, I’m new and this will be a deal breaker when it comes time to resubscribe.

  • hep717

extremely annoying! can they PLEASE reverse this update. VSCO has gone downhill drastically because they keep ruining their best features!!!!!!!
