Private and Public Accounts
Dear VSCO Team,
I hope this message finds you well. As a dedicated user of VSCO, I am writing to request a feature that I believe would greatly enhance the experience and privacy of many in the VSCO community: the option to create private accounts.
Why Private Accounts?
Enhanced Privacy: In an era where online privacy is increasingly important, having the option to make an account private allows users to control who can view their content. This feature would be especially valuable for users who want to share their creative work with a select audience without exposing it to the public.
Safe Sharing: Private accounts would provide a safer space for users, particularly young artists, to share their work without the fear of unsolicited attention or feedback. This can encourage more open and authentic expression among users who might otherwise be hesitant to post.
Community Building: Allowing users to manage their followers and audience can foster a more engaged and supportive community. Users would have the ability to curate their audience, ensuring that their followers are genuinely interested in their content.
Proposed Features for Private Accounts:
Follower Approval: Users with private accounts should have the ability to approve or decline follow requests.
Content Visibility: Only approved followers should be able to see posts, collections, and interactions.
Profile Privacy: Profiles of private accounts should be visible only to approved followers, maintaining the user's privacy even further.
As a platform that celebrates creativity and individuality, implementing private accounts would align with VSCO's mission to provide a safe and inspiring environment for its users. This feature would undoubtedly attract more users who prioritize privacy, thereby expanding VSCO's community while maintaining the high standards of user experience.
Thank you for considering this request. I, along with many other VSCO users, look forward to your positive response and hope to see this feature implemented soon.
Sincerely,
A User
