Comments for post in “Activity” area

Hi. One idea for a new feature could be to allow comments on post. I think it would be cool to comment something or write an emoji about a shot that someone posted, but still have it private like as if it were a favorite, and without sending it to them in a message which feels too personal. The comment could maybe show up when clicking on the “Activity” button for that post, and the poster could like it or respond to it in a message.

Some thought on how it could maybe flow:

• When a post is in the feed, there could be a small text box next to the “favorite” and “repost” buttons that expands when you tap on it, then let’s you type a small message (like 256 characters or something).
• The poster will maybe get an alert if someone commented on their image under their notification activity, similar to someone favoriting or messaging.
• When clicking on the link in the notifications activity, or manually navigating to the post and clicking “Activity”, you will see the comment next to the user’s name.
• Maybe the poster could “star”/like the comment, or click to reply in a message (similar to sending a photo in a message).

There’s definitely room for abuse with open comments, so to reduce that, there could be some restrictions like:

• A way to allow comments from anyone or only people you follow
• A way to set comments on/off by post and a way to have a default setting for it
• A way to delete/block/report a comment
• I could also see for security reasons and maybe generating revenue, being able to comment only as a subscriber.
