The tapestry of lived experiences that make up the history of Black people is not easily contained in a single month. Each voice is a thread of ongoing dialogue that spans generations. There are histories of countless struggles and triumphs, moments of joy and sorrow, and throughout it all, an unapologetic demand to continually uplift and celebrate the stories that make up the Black experience.
To continue our commitment to amplifying these perspectives we reached out to 10 VSCO creators featured in the Melanin Collection to kick off this month of remembrance and celebration. To acknowledge the history being made today, we asked each creator to share an image that would stand the test of time 100 years from now.
We also asked them to share their own questions to start an ongoing dialogue. To join the conversation share your response in the caption of an image tagged with #Melanin. We'll be highlighting work shared in the collection on our social channels throughout the month.
