Agreed, the new update is absolutely awful for anyone who edits many images and videos at once. I’ve almost stopped using the app completely because of this.

Yeah.. same here! It's extremely annoying tbh. I still use the app cause I love the edits but this issue is becoming a huge problem for my editing workflow.

Honestly, the new change is such a waste of time to my editing process - making content is time consuming enough without the addition of having to upload content to the app when prior it was just fine to access everything directly from the media files - and then having to save them onto my phone so I have two versions is so incredibly unhelpful. It's such a frustrating change with no reason given to improve the overall experience. VSCO is one of the few apps I have always happily paid for, but this change is making it clear they don't want to keep the users they have! Either explain the change please or revert back to how it was when it was worth the money.

I came here to add the same feature request.
I’d use VSCO exponentially more if I could edit the photos straight from the gallery.
The additional friction of having to import the photos to VSCO first is super frustrating.

Please also find ways not to rename files: this creates a lot of confusion and makes it difficult to use the app for big photo work. I don't think it's a difficult change to make, and it would greatly simplify the workflow for app users.
